slynl83 :

I’m looking to buy a new digital camera to replace my faulty Panasonic FX7. I’d like to get a camera that is user-friendly, but with the option of taking interesting pictures – especially travel photos.

Wide angle cameras a plus.

I’m currently looking at the Canon Ixus 860is. Is it a good camera? or is there a better camera that I can get? Recommendations appreciated. Any brand.

Thanks

I would recommend the Canon “A” series camera. My friend take pictures all the time and he said that’s probably the best camera he owns beside his DSLR. The picture quality do some out really nice.

You can check it out on Canon’s website and see example pictures on amazon.

I own Canon A series. i enjoy snap photo using it. its user friendly and not much u have to set or to change while shooting. and its easy to handle with. Battery consumption also nice, u can snap up to 1000 pics (depends on the Memory card) in single charge.

I’d recommend the Kodak Easyshare V1233 12.0 megapixel digital camera, because it is extremely easy to use, has very intuitive menus and many in camera editing options. It can even take high-definition video!

Canon A series.

Check out the a570 and a590. Both these cameras can accept 3rd party adapters and lenses so you can get your wide angle shots. Both have image stabilization, red eye removal tools, take great photos and have manual controls if you want/need them.

I HAVE THE CANON 860IS IS THE BEST CAMERA I HAVE HAD, THE ZOOM IS 28 TO 105 , WHICH IS GREAT FOR WIDE SHOT AND THE ZOOM IS PRETTY GOOD. I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY RED EYES IN THE PICTURES THAT I HAVE TAKEN SO FAR. JUST A GREAT LITTLE CAMERA. IT IS HARD TO COMPARE ANY OTHER CAMERA TO A CANON CAMERA!!
